Charlotte Potter was raised in Fayston Vermont by two artisan parents. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University with a concentration in glass and a minor in dance. She has studied glass blowing at summer programs such as Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine and the New York School of Ceramics and Art Design. Charlotte has taught glass blowing at Bucks Rock Children's Art Camp in Connecticut and been the Teacher Assistant at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She has been on staff at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State and at the Creative Glass Center of America in New Jersey. Charlotte has worked with many renowned glass artist such as Flo Perkins at Beaver Studios in Santa Fe, Studio Inferno and Vella Vetro glass Studio in New Orleans, Studio K in Austin and Heron Glass Studio in Driggs Idaho.
Presently Charlotte lives in Jackson Hole Wyoming where she teaches Glass Blowing and Fusing at the Art Association and works at Thal glass blowing studio. Her work is shown internationally and in private collections. She has demonstrated glass blowing at the Glass Art Society Conference in New Orleans and St. Louis and at The Wheaton Glass Residency Program. This summer Charlotte has been awarded a scholarship at Pilchuck Glass School. She is twenty-six years of age. |
